D.C. Sports Media Approval Ratings: Dave Feldman

Finally departing the world of talk radio and cable TV, we move to the networks, WTTG-TV and Dave Feldman. Feldy, as he’s known in and out of press boxes, worked radio in the Bay Area and television in Sioux City, Iowa, before going back to California for jobs in Monterey and Santa Ana. Most of us in this market probably first became aware of him during his four-year run in Bristol, where he hosted SportsCenter and ESPN News, did college hoops play-by-play and captained ESPN2’s “College Hoops 2Night.”
He joined FOX 5 in 2000 and became sports director the following year (replacing Brett Haber, who had left for WCBS-TV in New York). Feldman has won four local Emmys, and co-hosted a short-lived morning sports talk program on SportsTalk 980 from spring to fall last year.
Feldman is a native of Palo Alto and a graduate of Tufts University; he has famous friends, having played high school basketball with Jim Harbaugh and coached basketball at Stanford with Tom Davis, Bruce Pearl and Kermit Washington. Like a majority of media approval subjects thus far, he also has a blog.
Bearing in mind that you have just two options, here’s your chance to judge Dave Feldman. Choose carefully, and offer explanation below.
